How many bundles do I need?

Most installs use 2 bundles for natural volume. Choose 3 for maximum fullness or longer lengths. Your free photo check confirms the right amount before you buy.

What is The Illusion Knot Method℠?

A hand tied, invisible install that combines micro K tip placement with a Brazilian knot concept. Each 9D micro feather piece is placed on the same small section of natural hair as a micro K tip install and secured with a hand tied knot instead of a bond: no braids, no beads, no glue, no heat and no tension. It is not just for textured hair. Fewer than 50 stylists in the US offer this kind of install. The Illusion Knot Method℠ is the name Freida Nestor gives to her hand tied 9D micro feather install.

Your install is done by Freida Nestor, who has more than 30 years in cosmetology and braiding, in her private studio at 5759 Pacific Ave, Suite B145, Stockton, California. Clients travel from anywhere.

How booking works

1. Send 3 photos for a free photo check. Your natural hair must be at least 4 inches long, and longer is best.
2. Buy your hair here. Hair is not included in any install, and it is held at the studio for your install day.
3. Book your install with a $300 retainer that goes toward your install. The balance is due at your appointment in cash or Zelle.
4. Arrive with your hair detangled and dry. Installs take about 6 hours, one client a day.

Frequently asked questions

How is this different from micro K tips?
The placement is the same small micro section. Instead of a keratin bond fused with heat, each piece is secured with a hand tied knot using a Brazilian knot concept.

Is this the same as feather crochet hair?
No. Many feather installs use regular human hair feather crochet hair. This is 9D micro feather hair: ultra fine, featherlight pieces tied by hand, one micro section at a time, for an invisible finish.

How much is the install?
$1,700 for Founding Clients and $1,500 for Models, plus hair. Every install includes one complimentary refresh: shampoo, condition and silk press.

Can the hair be reused?
Yes. Your raw hair is saved at takedown and reinstalled as your natural hair grows.

How long does it last?
3 to 4 months with maintenance.
