What is The Illusion Knot Method?
A hand tied install of 9D micro feather hair that combines micro K tip placement with a Brazilian knot concept. Each piece is knotted to a micro section of your natural hair for an invisible finish, with no braids, no beads, no glue, no heat and no tension.
Is this the same as feather crochet hair?
No. Many feather installs use regular human hair feather crochet hair. The Illusion Knot Method uses 9D micro feather hair: ultra fine, featherlight pieces tied by hand for an invisible finish.
How is it different from micro K tips?
The placement is the same small micro section as a micro K tip install. Instead of a keratin bond fused with heat, each piece is secured with a hand tied knot using a Brazilian knot concept, so there is no glue and no heat at the root.
Does it work on my hair type?
It is not just for textured hair. If there is hair to knot to, the method works. Your natural hair must be at least 4 inches long, and longer is best.
Is hair included in the install price?
No. Hair is purchased separately in our shop before you book. The install is $1,700 for Founding Clients and $1,500 for Models.
How many bundles do I need?
Most installs use 2 bundles for natural volume. Choose 3 for maximum fullness or longer lengths. Your free photo check confirms the right amount.
What lengths and textures are available?
Straight, Kinky Straight, Body Wave and Burmese Curly, from 16 to 30 inch, in 100g bundles of 100% raw 9D micro feather hair. Straight starts at $175 for 16 inch.
How long does the install take?
About 6 hours, and the studio books one client a day. Model installs run about 8 hours for filming.
How long does it last?
3 to 4 months with maintenance. Your hair can be taken down and reinstalled when your natural growth calls for it.
What is included after my install?
One complimentary refresh: shampoo, condition and silk press. After that, a Maintenance Refresh is $260.
How does payment work?
Your hair is paid in full in our shop. A $300 nonrefundable retainer secures your date and goes toward your install. The balance is due at your appointment in cash or Zelle only.
What if I need to reschedule?
Give at least 48 hours notice and your retainer moves to your new date. With less notice, or a no call, no show, the retainer is forfeited. Your hair stays reserved for you.
Can my hair be reused?
Yes. A Takedown is $400 and includes a shampoo and conditioning service. Your hair is saved, and a Reinstall is $1,700 for clients and $1,500 for models.
Do you ship the hair?
No shipping needed. Your hair is reserved and held at the studio for your install day.
Do I need to arrive detangled?
Yes. If your hair arrives tangled, a $50 detangling service is added so your install can begin on time.
Where are you located?
Our private studio is at 5759 Pacific Ave, Suite B145, Stockton, California, and clients travel from anywhere. Appointments only, closed Wednesdays.
